A NHS General Practice
TOTAL TRIAGE Implementation from 1st of April 2024
We have some exciting news about a significant change to our appointment system that will improve how Sinnott Medical Centre delivers healthcare services to you as of 1st April 2024! – we are moving to a TOTAL TRIAGE Appointment System.
TOTAL TRIAGE is a new approach recommended by NHS England to improve accessibility to Primary Care services. The main objectives are to enhance the quality of care our patients receive, to ensure that they are given the most appropriate appointment or advice to meet their needs and that this is done in a timely way. This is also to ensure patients can be treated for acute queries sooner rather than later and to secure pre-bookable appointments for ongoing care related issues.
This means Clinicians will be triaging patients via the E-Consultations pathway. You will no longer need to queue up at 8am for an appointment and although doctors will be dealing with more patients and may be busier than usual, this change has been put in place so that we as a practice can provide even better care for our patients sooner rather than later.
We must stress that same day appointments are normally for acute queries however we are not an emergency service so for any life threatening emergencies, patients will still need to call 999 or go to Accident and Emergency or call 111.
IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ
Please DO NOT use Total Triage to order medication, as this is not it’s purpose.
For all urgent and Non-Urgent queries, patients MUST submit an econsultation using the link below (ACCURX). This will be accessible from 8am onwards Monday to Friday (except weekends and bank holidays) Subject to capacity. once the daily limit has been reached, patients will need to contact Out of Hours or NHS 111 for advice on urgent health related queries. If you’re query is not urgent, you can use the econsult link again from 8am the next working day.
