Accessibility and Support for Patients with Learning Disabilities

Accessibility and Support for Patients

We are committed to making our services accessible to all patients, including those with physical, sensory, learning, or hidden disabilities.

We are proud to have an in-house Learning Disability Champion, Danielle, who works closely with patients who have additional needs. Danielle plays an active role in supporting patients, helping to identify reasonable adjustments, and ensuring individual needs are understood and met. This includes working with patients, carers, and the wider clinical team to improve access and experience of care.

We take great pride in the support we provide to all our patients and recognise the importance of having dedicated, experienced staff members to support those with additional needs. Having a named Learning Disability Champion reflects our commitment to reducing health inequalities and improving access to care.

If you have additional needs, please let us know so we can support you appropriately. This may include:

  • Step-free access or assistance within the building

  • Longer or flexible appointments

  • Easy-read information

  • Support for hearing or visual impairment

  • Communication support or the use of an advocate

We can record reasonable adjustments on your medical record to ensure your needs are recognised every time you contact the practice.
